Grey Market Ammunition Advisory

Magtech – Sellier & Bellot USA customers:

It’s recently come to our attention that a number of unauthorized import companies are offering Magtech and Sellier & Bellot (S&B) ammunition for sale in the United States.  The companies or individuals do not typically operate in the shooting sports business and will be unfamiliar to most shooters. They often advertise this ammunition as being “in transit”, “on the water” or “arriving soon” and require a deposit or pre-payment. This is not how our legitimate retail partners operate.

As a result of current market demand and retail prices, these import companies are sourcing ammunition from various foreign locations that are not in compliance with our high standards for handling, storage, transportation etc. Most of the ammunition is packaged in standard Magtech and Sellier & Bellot boxes, while some may appear with the brand “Top Shot” printed on the box.  Magtech USA cannot guarantee the performance of this ammunition as it is being handled outside of our approved distribution network. We are working as best we can to end this practice, often referred to as “grey market importation”, in an effort to ensure all Magtech and Sellier & Bellot ammunition offered for sale in the United States meets our high standards for performance.  Ammunition found (via lot number or packaging) to have been imported and sold in the United States by these grey market operations will not be covered by our warranties or technical support.  We urge customers to purchase ammunition from established retailers who have a history of ethical business practice.
